This camel was hitched to the ground in a Bedouin settlement in the Sahara.
There were children playing there, kicking a soccer ball, partially deflated, back and forth, yelling at each other in French. They kicked the ball to me and laughed as I pretended to steal it and run away with it.

A man came up to me and offered me a ride on the camel, promising me that it would be free to get up onto him and ride him. I declined and continued wandering through the settlement wondering, "If it was free for me to get up onto the camel, how much would he charge for me to get down?"

About This Site

I have had various websites and blogs over the years, all of which have served different purposes at different times, but this is the first where I can finally focus on my writing and be true to myself as a writer.

I will use this site as a launchpad for new projects, as well as post a collection of works that may have appeared elsewhere. The works here will range from sample chapters from novel-length manuscripts to pieces as short as 400 words.

I'm hoping this site will enable me to join a broader community of writers and help me to both expand my writing abilities and move forward with my career.
